Summary

This opportunity is available to nonprofit organizations operating in selective regions across the U.S., including specific metropolitan areas and counties in states such as Colorado, Illinois, Kansas/Missouri, New York and Pennsylvania. The funding supports organizations (not individuals) who are ready to implement programs that align with one of three broad focus areas: education, human services and healthcare/medical research.

Within the education focus, funded programs might work to improve academic achievement, increase high‑school graduation rates, support out‑of‑school learning, or bolster alternative/charter school models. In the human services area, funds may support efforts to stabilize vulnerable individuals and families through access to housing, food or clothing security, adult education, or initiatives to prevent homelessness. For healthcare/medical research, the interest is in projects that increase access to primary care, mental health services or preventive health in underserved communities, or that advance evidence‑based medical research.

Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations in good standing, located within the defined geographic regions, and proposing initiatives with clear alignment to one of the funder’s three program areas. The programs should demonstrate measured outcomes, a sustainability plan beyond the grant period, and ideally reflect collaborative or partnership approaches. First‑time applicants generally submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) by a stated deadline and, if invited, submit a full proposal, while repeat applicants follow a subsequent schedule.

Award sizes vary considerably depending on region and project scale, with some grants reaching into the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and annual giving across all regions amounting to several million. Deadlines are typically three times per year: for example LOIs due in early spring, mid‑year and late summer, with full proposals soon after. Grants are made on an annual or cyclical basis within these three windows. If you’re a nonprofit organization based in one of the eligible locations, have a mission-driven project in education, human services or health that is ready to launch or expand (not just plan), and can show measurable impact and sustainability, this grant opportunity could be a strong fit.
